Who We Are
The Vernon Arts Commission (VAC) became an official Town of Vernon Commission in 1976. The VAC is composed of volunteers: nine (9) Commissioners appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Town Council and an unlimited number of Associates appointed by the VAC.
The Friends of the Vernon Arts Commission (FVAC) support and supplement the work of the VAC by serving on project committees and promoting an appreciation for the arts through community outreach.
To promote artistic and cultural activities for Vernon citizens; to encourage arts education and appreciation; to provide opportunities for artists to produce and present their work; and to pursue artistic and cultural collaborations.
VAC Monthly Meetings are held on the 1st Monday (2nd Monday if 1st is a holiday)
at 7 PM in the Vernon Community Arts Center, 709 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT.
