The VAC is comprised of volunteers ~ nine (9) Commissioners and an unlimited number of Associates. Both Commissioners and Associates attend monthly meetings and actively engage in discussions about facilitating arts programming, as well as participate in various outreach activities promoting the arts in Vernon.  Each have different responsibilities and duties as described below:

Commissioner 

     Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Town Council.  Any resident of the Town of Vernon may apply to join the Vernon Arts Commission (VAC), providing there is a vacancy on the nine (9) member Commission. Upon appointment, a VAC Commissioner is required to attend the monthly meetings and may vote on official VAC business, such as funding applications.

     Residents interested in joining the VAC as a Commissioner must complete the 

Application for VAC Commissioner (Resume for Appointment to a Town of Vernon Commission)

and submit this application to:

Associate Commissioner

     Associates are appointed by the Commissioners of the VAC through an application process. There is no limit to the number of Associate Commissioners serving on the VAC. Upon appointment, VAC Associates are highly encouraged to regularly attend the monthly meetings and contribute to discussions during the meetings.  VAC Associates, however, do not vote on official VAC business. Beyond the monthly meetings, Associates also participate in VAC community outreach activities.

     Those interested in joining the VAC as an Associate Commissioner must complete the Application for VAC Associate and submit this application to:
